When Things Go Wrong: Rizon Training Group and Inverroy Crisis Management Team Up to Explore Risk, Resilience and Crisis Response

What happens when something goes seriously wrong? Are your people prepared to respond?

Rizon Training Group and Inverroy Crisis Management are coming together to deliver a practical and thought-provoking event for businesses across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

When Things Go Wrong is an exclusive morning session designed to give senior leaders and decision-makers the opportunity to explore the full journey of an incident – from prevention and preparedness through to response and recovery.

While no organisation wants to imagine facing a serious incident, being prepared for one is an important part of effective leadership and business resilience.

From prevention to response

Preventing the Incident – Rizon

Rizon will focus on what organisations can do before something goes wrong.

Our session will explore proactive risk planning, preparedness and prevention, encouraging leaders to look beyond compliance and consider how they can build greater resilience within their organisation.

That includes thinking about whether people have the right skills, whether processes are effective and whether leaders are genuinely prepared to respond when circumstances change.

Good preparation isn’t simply about having policies and procedures in place. It’s about ensuring people understand their roles and have the confidence and competence to act when it matters.

Responding When It Happens – Inverroy

The second part of the event will look at what happens when an incident becomes a reality.

Inverroy will explore the realities of incident command, decision-making under pressure and the critical role of family liaison when people are affected by a serious incident.

When an incident occurs, leaders can be faced with incomplete information, competing priorities and significant pressure to make decisions quickly. Understanding how to respond effectively – both operationally and from a human perspective – is a critical part of crisis preparedness.

Why are we doing this?

At Rizon, we spend a lot of time helping organisations develop their people, from operator and manager training through to leadership development and one of the things we consistently see is that preparedness starts with people.

You can have the best processes and plans in the world, but when something unexpected happens, it is your people who have to put those plans into action and that’s why we’re pleased to be teaming up with Inverroy to look at the bigger picture – connecting prevention, preparedness, leadership and response.

The aim isn’t to create fear or focus on worst-case scenarios. It’s about giving leaders the opportunity to think differently, challenge their current approach and consider whether their organisation would be ready if something went seriously wrong.

A practical morning for local business leaders

The session is designed to be more than a series of presentations.

We’ll encourage discussion, questions and practical thinking, giving attendees the opportunity to consider how the topics relate to their own organisation and following the sessions, we’ll also be hosting lunch, providing an informal opportunity to meet the Rizon and Inverroy teams, ask questions and connect with other businesses from across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

It’s a chance to share experiences, learn from others and continue the conversation beyond the formal sessions.
