Last week, our team exhibited at Safety Expo 2025, marking our first appearance at the event as Rizon. The day was a brilliant opportunity to show off our new identity, which brings together the combined expertise of AquaTerra Training, Bon-Accord Training and IED Training to provide complete training solutions for clients across a wide range of industries.
What happened at Safety Expo 2025?
Held at Aberdeen’s P&J Live, Safety Expo brings together the biggest names in the safety world for an insightful day of networking, exhibitions and talks from industry experts. As safety specialists, it’s always a great event for us to attend, but this time it was extra special as we showed off Rizon for the very first time.
Our day at the H&S Expo began with an inspiring business breakfast featuring Chris Lemons and his incredible story of survival. For those unfamiliar with Chris, his real-life experience is the basis for the documentary The Last Breath. While working as a diver deep in the North Sea, there was a catastrophic computer failure that saw his boat drift away in stormy seas, Chris became disconnected from his umbilical cord, cutting off his life line and was left stranded on the seabed for over 40 minutes without oxygen.
His survival is nothing short of remarkable and it was only possible thanks to the swift actions and exceptional training of his team. It was an unforgettable morning that powerfully underscored the importance of safety and why businesses must continue to invest in robust safety training.
Four of our Directors – Charlie, Ian, Carol and Iain – were in attendance. It was great for the team members to get together in person and meet with our peers in the safety industry, and spread the word about the formation of Rizon, the reasons behind it, and the brilliant work we do.
We had a jam-packed day, but there was also time for a little fun. We had a great time catching up with our industry friends and clients, and inviting visitors to our exhibition stand to take part in a business card competition. A big well done to our winner Lesley Taylor from Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce on winning our prize, we hope you enjoy it!
