Why this course is important
Scenarios for Use
-
Continuous gas monitoring during hot work operations
-
Standby duties at confined space entry points
-
Acting as Safety Watch for ongoing atmospheric monitoring in industrial environments
The Risk We Address
Without dedicated gas monitoring, dangerous atmospheres can go undetected, exposing workers to toxic or flammable gases during critical operations. This course trains delegates to recognise atmospheric hazards, monitor effectively and uphold safety throughout operations.
Skills and Knowledge Gained
Participants will learn to perform safety watch duties effectively, identify and assess gas hazards, operate monitoring equipment and support safe systems of work. This includes understanding flammable and toxic gas properties, PPE selection, communication, environmental impacts and documentation through a mix of instruction and hands-on exercises.

assessment type
Written and Practical Assessment

Certification gained
Certificates are awarded after successful completion of the course and will be valid for a three year period, after which recertification must take place.
